Liberty Square

Liberty Square opened as part of the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World’s grand opening on October 1, 1971 as one of the original six themed lands. It is located in the northwest corner, bordering Fantasyland and Frontierland. Liberty Square which is dedicated to colonial America has one of the most popular attractions in the Magic Kingdom, the Haunted Mansion, is located in this land.

Liberty Square is also the smallest land by guest area in the Magic Kingdom and the only land yet to undergo a major refurbishment. All of the attractions, original from October 1, 1971, still exist in some form or another.

Liberty Tree Tavern

Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom Park features an 18th-century colonial American theme.  This Disney Magic Kingdom restaurant is an all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner buffet of Thanksgiving fare. But Why is it called the Liberty Tree Tavern?

Since Liberty Square is all about colonial America. Part of history is the Liberty Tree. The Liberty Tree was a famous elm tree that stood in Boston near Boston Common. In 1765, colonists in Boston staged the first act of defiance against the British government at the tree.

So this all you can eat Disney buffet named the Liberty Tree Tavern is a perfect name. Plus this dining establishment is home to a famous dessert.
