Growing up in an era with rules such as elbows off the table and finish everything on your plate or you get no dessert is what the Hollywood Studios Primetime Cafe is about. Your waitress is “mom” and you are transported back in time when there were no cell phones and you have to follow the dinner table rules, like eat your vegetables or you get no dessert.

Comfort food

The 50’s Primetime Cafe is all about comfort food. This Disney restaurant in Hollywood Studios makes meals like mom would have made for you. There is nothing exotic on this Disney menu, it is all comfort food plain and simple.

Mom’s meatloaf

Every kid growing up has had mom’s meatloaf. This Disney restaurant knows that. So of course mom’s meatloaf recipe has to be on the menu. 

What makes this meatloaf recipe so good in my opinion is that meatloaf glaze mom uses. This Disney recipe is one the easiest ones to make at home and it tastes very good.

I admit I have used variations of this Disney meatloaf recipe over on my other blog, Seduction In The Kitchen. This is a winning Hollywood Studios recipe for sure!

Mom's Meatloaf 50's Prime Time Cafe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Additional Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients

Meatloaf

• 2 lb ground beef
• 1 lb ground pork
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
• ½ cup diced onions
• 1/4 cup diced green peppers
• 1/4 cup diced red peppers
• 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• Cracked black pepper to taste
• Kosher salt to taste

Meatloaf Glaze

• ½ cup ketchup
• 1 Tbsp brown sugar
• 1 Tsp Dijon mustard
• ½ Tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Meatloaf

1. Dice peppers and onions and set aside for later use.
2. Combine meats and seasonings.
3. Add vegetables.
4. Place meat mixture in an oiled loaf pan.
5. Bake at 350º F oven for 1 hour (internal temp 155º)

Glaze

1. Combine all ingredients for the glaze until mixture is smooth

Finish

1. Brush meatloaf with meatloaf glaze.
2. Bake another 10 minutes.
3. Let meatloaf set 10 minutes, cut loaf, and serve.
